Jurie Geldenhuys started his career in the Film Industry on Zulu Dawn in 1978. Jurie's strong point is his ability to design equipment and find ways to achieve shots and offer unique camera angles not possible with standard grips equipment. He has also rigged many cameras on Pit Special aerobatic aircraft flown by Scully Levine. He designed and built a 60 foot jib tower for a straight up jibshot with three crew riding. Jurie has also designed a rig that can start in front of a raised actor and flies 360 degrees over his head, under his feet and back to his face 4 meters away. The application it was used for was to start underwater looking at actors legs and then rise up out of the water and end up above their heads. These are a few examples in a long and varied career spanning features and commercials. Jurie owns his own truck containing a full compliment of grips equipment to enable him to solve any challenge at a moments notice.
