ACHIEVEMENTS
Lerato is the Writer, Producer and Director of Khayelitsha - A New Home. She was funded by The National Arts Council of South Africa to screen her short film at the Goree Arts Festival in Senegal.
The coming of age, drama is about a Westernised teenage girl from modern Khayelitsha Township who is sold into marriage by her disgruntled uncle, as a result of losing his inheritance to her, and so he uses the village practice of Ukuthwalwa as a form of good riddance.
