Paul, from Cape Town, was a professional surfer being photographed by the world’s best photographers when his fascination with photography and film was ignited. He chose to move to the other side of the lens to pursue his passion for shooting film. He started off shooting action sports, before widening his horizons towards documentaries, fashion, music and TV commercials. With his passion for capturing a wide variety of subjects on a range of cameras, and his ability both in and out of the ocean, Paul has travelled the globe to work with elite athletes, musicians and brands.
He has worked with the best skater of all time, Tony Hawk and repeatedly with 3 times World Surfing Champion, Mick Fanning. In music, Paul has worked with Xavier Rudd, The Bloody Beetroots and double Brit award-winning musician Ben Howard. Paul’s other work includes campaigns and films for Vans, Panasonic, Rip Curl, Speedo, Adidas to mention a few. He recently shot fashion campaigns in Paris, Marseilles and Norway. Paul has also shot various projects for the Red Bull Media House and was the DOP for the National Geographic travel series Chasing the Sun.
