Ari is the first member of the prestigious SASC to be elected dually with SASO membership, having been an elected member since 1998, of the South African Society of Cinematographers as Director of Photography and now also the South African Society of Operators.
He is also the first SASC SASO member to have been awarded the Visible Spectrum Award for camera operation; in this case for Steadicam operation.
